: Peter Murphy truly is excitement defined. From traveling the Country as a promising Division 1 Soccer Goalkeeper to his voyages through modeling, acting, comedy, and journalism Peter can be described as a well accomplished, but also comprehensively unseen Renaissance man.
From the shores of Miami Beach to the rocky mountains of Colorado, Peter was able to explore the United States early in his life thanks to his aptitude on the soccer field as a goalkeeper; then came 2007. While playing before a crowd of thousands in New York, Peter experienced the heartbreak of a lifetime when his blooming soccer career came to an unanticipated end by way of tearing his right labrum, rotator cuff, and bicep simultaneously during a dive through the air to stop a shot on goal. This incident coupled with the passing of his Grandfather weeks later coaxed Peter into moving back to Florida (where he spent most of his life) to support his Grandmother and Mother. Once in Florida Peter wasted no time trying his hand in playing the roll of actor, model, and conversationalist; and it was only after the counsel of Bill Wood (11 time regional Emmy Winner) that Peter started making his predominant focus entertainment journalism and comedy. With the spark instilled in him thanks to Bill Wood, Peter was lead to discover his talents in entertainment. Being so well natured and loving, Peter takes his earnest and vivacious enthusiasm into every project he takes on; going as far as even saying “anything that I have ever done that I did not put my full heart into has failed miserably.” And while he does admit to be a bit of an exhibitionist, he is also a very hard-working, extremely self-aware, pathologically ambitious, and highly intelligent exhibitionist; which in it’s own right sets him far apart from a circus clown, or stiff news anchor. Now fast-forward to 2010, Peter describes himself as a comedic host first, actor second, and model if called upon. His current “gigs” include hosting Orlando Live (an entertainment show focused solely on the happenings about in Central Florida), Host and assistant director of The 21 Convention (a male self-improvement seminar), a stand-up comic that can be found sporadically throughout Central Florida establishments, and as a student of improvisational comedy at SAK Comedy Lab.
Through pit falls and roadblocks, peaks and valleys, Peter finds himself poised, and prepared to make a splash on the national stage; and with his “pulls no punches, off the cuff” mentality towards comedy and entertainment it seems just a matter of time before you’re telling your friends about Peter Murphy. www.PeterMurphy.TV
